Overview
The Colorado Conservation Film Fest (CCFF) is a curated storytelling event that brings together hunters, filmmakers, conservationists, and outdoor industry partners to celebrate and advance wildlife conservation through film. Hosted by The Origins Foundation in partnership with Ullr’s Archery, the event creates a unique platform for education, dialogue, and community building centered on responsible conservation practices.
Set in Windsor, Colorado, CCFF blends cinematic storytelling with a live experience, combining film screenings, expert perspectives, and community engagement into an immersive evening that inspires action and connection.
Mission
To elevate and share authentic stories that highlight the critical role of ethical hunting, habitat stewardship, and responsible wildlife management in conservation. CCFF seeks to bridge the gap between hunters and the broader public by showcasing the positive impact of conservation-minded outdoor communities.
Core Values
Conservation First
We champion sustainable wildlife management and habitat preservation grounded in science and stewardship.
Authenticity in Storytelling
We prioritize real, honest narratives that reflect the true relationship between humans, wildlife, and the land.
Community & Connection
We foster a collaborative environment where filmmakers, outdoorsmen and women, and conservation advocates can engage, learn, and build relationships.
Education & Awareness
We aim to inform audiences about the vital role hunters play in conservation and the challenges facing wildlife today.
Respect for Wildlife & Land
We promote ethical hunting practices and a deep respect for ecosystems and natural resources.
Event Goal
The primary goal of CCFF is to create a meaningful platform that:
Inspires audiences to support conservation initiatives
Amplifies the voice of conservation-minded hunters and filmmakers
Builds partnerships across the outdoor, conservation, and creative communities
Raises awareness of wildlife management challenges through compelling visual storytelling
Through its film program and community-focused experience, the event aims to leave attendees with a deeper understanding of conservation issues and a stronger connection to the role they can play in protecting wildlife.
Film Program & Submission Focus
CCFF is actively seeking short-form films that capture the intersection of hunting, conservation, and storytelling.
Film Criteria:
Length: 1–20 minutes
Theme: Hunting, conservation, and wildlife stewardship
Content Focus:
The role of hunters in conservation
Habitat preservation and restoration
Wildlife management and sustainability
Personal stories from the field that reflect ethical hunting practices
Cultural and generational connections to the outdoors
Selected films should inspire, educate, and resonate with both hunting and non-hunting audiences, emphasizing the broader impact of conservation efforts.
The Experience
The festival features a professionally curated film program, live commentary, and a high-quality cinematic environment, followed by a community gathering that includes filmmaker engagement, industry partners, and outdoor enthusiasts.
This combination of storytelling and in-person interaction transforms CCFF from a traditional screening into a dynamic conservation-driven experience.
Why It Matters
At a time when public understanding of hunting and conservation is often misunderstood, CCFF provides a credible and compelling platform to tell the real story—one rooted in stewardship, responsibility, and the long-term preservation of wildlife and wild places.
