Outside Sales Representative
Position Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new customer opportunities within an assigned geographic region. This role focuses on face-to-face prospecting, relationship building, and delivering consultative sales solutions to residential and business customers. The Outside Sales Representative plays a critical role in expanding Hilltop Broadband’s market presence, increasing subscriber counts, and representing the company’s brand in the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prospect and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, door-knocking, networking, referrals, and local community engagement.
- Identify customer needs and effectively position Hilltop Broadband’s fiber and wireless internet solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, customers, property managers, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct professional sales presentations, demos, and on-site consultations to communicate features, benefits, and pricing.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms to achieve win-win outcomes and close sales.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification → proposal → negotiation → closing → service handoff.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to coordinate campaigns, promotions, and onboarding.
- Achieve and exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge, competitive insights, and awareness of industry trends.
- Provide timely and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to sales leadership.
- Use CRM tools to document customer interactions, track opportunities, and manage follow-up tasks.
- Represent Hilltop Broadband at community events, chamber functions, open houses, and local outreach opportunities.
- Ensure a smooth transition of closed deals to Customer Success for installation scheduling and ongoing support.
- Uphold Hilltop Broadband’s reputation through professional conduct, customer care, and community presence.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Proven experience in outside sales, account management, or field sales—preferably in a subscriber-based recurring revenue industry (telecom, solar, security, SaaS, utilities, etc.).
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong negotiation and presentation abilities, with confidence speaking to individuals and small groups.
- Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-activity sales environment.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and digital sales tools.
- Strong organization and time-management skills; ability to manage a large pipeline effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned region.
- Comfortable working outdoors and conducting door-to-door or on-site sales activities.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. of marketing materials or equipment as needed.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) during field prospecting.
- Prolonged periods working at a desk or computer when office-based
- Office-based in Loveland, Colorado, with regular travel throughout assigned sales territory
- Fieldwork includes door-knocking, business visits, community events, and residential outreach.
